The Brooklyn Eagle wore out some shoeleather chasing down the low-down on a BHB tipster tidbit about a reported tug of war between the DOT and BBP Conservancy over use of the soon to be cleared Purchase Building site under the Brooklyn Bridge:

Wal-Pet? Local Retailer’s Reaction to NYCPet Coming to Clark Street

As we all know, NYCPet is stocking their shelves on Clark Street for an August opening. With four other pet stores within a four-block radius, I wondered if owners are nervous about the competition.

Curbed Reader: 20 Henry… Feh

A Brooklyn Heights tipster wrote to Curbed this week about the new development at 20 Henry.  The tipster is not impressed: Curbed: A tipster has the scoopage on new Brooklyn Heights condo conversion 20 Henry (at 20 Henry Street, ‘natch), which was formally the Peaks Mason Mints building, constructed in 1929. This was taken this morning on Clark Street in front of the empty commercial space (formerly Golden Hangers dry cleaning service) next to the butcher shop. What are they building in there? A drug store? A supermarket? A hardware supplies shop? A Staples? Another temporary space for Gristede’s? What are they building in there? We […]

The Montague Street Piazza Experiment Begins July 6th

Every Sunday for the month of July, between 10am and 5pm, the Montague BID will transform Montague Street into a “pedestrian piazza” — which they stress will NOT be a street fair. Between Clinton Street and Montague Terrace, tables and chairs will be set up in the middle of the street, and the local merchants […]
