Gun Toting Thieves Reality vs. Hype: 84th Precinct Police Blotter – 10/27/09
After last week’s rash of robberies, there was a significant drop in thefts in Brooklyn Heights this week. First, an update on several crimes last week involving gun play. Despite hyperbolic Brooklyn-based tabloid reports, police officials said today that the three robberies involving gun-toting thieves were not linked.

The last week of August saw not only a break in temperature, but also a break in the car and motorcycle thefts that dominated the summer. There were, however, several robberies—including a bank robber, a gym locker and from a pizza deliveryman.
