YouTube user Hugo Viera has posted a video, shot today (4/12), of a longboard ride he took from the Lower East Side through Brooklyn Heights and DUMBO. It’s like Karl Junkersfeld on wheels(errrr sumthin’).

This in from the Brooklyn Heights Association regarding garbage and recyclables pickups: The following information comes from the DSNY District 2 Garage Superintendent and applies to Brooklyn Heights even if snow arrives as predicted for tomorrow: 1) The DSNY advises that they could reach Brooklyn Heights for pick-ups of regular garbage as soon as tonight, […]
The robin is supposed to be a harbinger of spring. “If only!” this one seems to be saying to himself. As I started my morning walk, a few little snowflakes were falling, but as I headed down into Squibb Park and across the bouncy bridge to Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park the flakes got […]
The Brooklyn Heights Association has given us this heads-up: Due to the heavy snowfall, we are advised not to expect any garbage collection until next Tuesday, February 18, at the earliest. A view looking north along the Promenade, with the Brooklyn Bridge in the background. (Another photo after the jump.) Looking out from the Promenade, with Pier 3 in the foreground and the lower Manhattan skyline beyond.
The day after #Hercules saw fun and whimsy in Brooklyn Heights. Kids took to Hillside Dog Park (which magically turns into a sledding hill on snow days) while others made whimsical snowmen (photo here by Mrs. Fink). Actually that looks like Jabba the Snowman, eh?
What did you do today?
Well, that just happened. Some call it #Hercules, we call it snow. Post your photos, gripes and other comments below!
