Open Thread: The Best Burger In Brooklyn Heights

Here’s a juicy Open Thread for your consideration. As BHB continues its “Best of the Heights” weekly surveys, we fire up Post No. 6 with a hot one: “Best Burger.”

What’s your favorite local joint for a satisfying patty? Oh so many choices… Jack the Horse Tavern or Siggy’s Salmon burger? Henry Street Ale? How about a diner deluxe from Grand Canyon, Happy Days or Park Plaza? Five Guys do the trick for you? Custom House, Clark’s Restaurant or Heights Cafe? Then, of course, there’s Shake Shack at the Fulton Mall entrance. Please feel free to share where you satiate craving for the perfect burger—and how it’s prepared to perfection.

If you’ve missed past “Best Of” surveys, see them here: Best Dry Cleaner, Best Pizza Pie, Best Handyman, Best Car Service and Best Vet & Dog Walker.

Agree with a lot of what’s already been said. Custom House Bistro Burger is amazing, as is Siggy’s turkey burger (the spices she uses are out of this world). Sounds like I need to give Henry Public a shot.

Grand Canyon for a regular burger; Clark’s for the turkey burger.

And, of course, honorable mention to Happy Days for a 3 a.m. burger.

Can’t believe no one mentioned Henry Street Ale House’s burger (with grilled onions and their beer BBQ sauce) … Best in the hood, with Shake Shack a solid #2.

Henry Street Ale House makes an awesome burger (try their beer BBQ sauce) … definitely my fave in the hood, with Shake Shack a solid #2.

Big fan of Blue Cheese burger at the Heights Wine Bar. 5 Guys for fast food burger (get it “all the way”).

The Heights Cafe has a decent burger and a great turkey burger.

Nothing in this neighborhood compares to Grand Canyon.

Best burger in Brooklyn, and the entire city is at Peter Luger. Excellent fries as well, and less expensive than JtH and Heights Café. Alas, only at lunch.

Five Guys is IMO revolting: burgers all cooked alike, no medium, rare, on gummy steamed bun. The burger at TERESA’S is far superior, cooked to desired doneness, served on choice of toasted or untoasted roll ir bun, and fries are fresh, not frozen, and cooked to order.

I think the burger at Heights Café is the best around, cooked to order, excellent fries or onion rings, and just as good as the very overpriced burger at JtH.

I like JtH, lovely country tavern atmosphere, but with a menu that is very limited and rarely if ever changes, it’s a bore.

Teresa’s has a buffalo burger, which is leaner meat. I don’t know if anybody else around here does.
