Travails of Eighteen Wheelers in Brooklyn Heights

Several days ago, your correspondent spotted this huge tractor-trailer rig trying unsuccessfully to turn from Montague to Hicks Street. Its way was blocked by a smaller bread delivery truck parked on the west (left) side of Hicks, close to the intersection. I didn’t stay around to see how this finally was resolved (I had to […]

The Tale of the Truck

This morning your correspondent was having breakfast and, hearing some commotion outside, looked and saw an eighteen wheeler with a lo-o-o-ong trailer vainly trying to turn the corner from Montague Street to Pierrepont Place without doing damage to a parked car or to street signs. Wheel Thieves Strike Again

A Range Rover sits forlornly, bereft of left wheels and propped up on a partially collapsed plastic milk crate, on Pierrepont Place, between Montague and Pierrepont Streets, this morning. We don’t know if this is the work of the same crooks who, over the weekend, took the wheels from a Honda CR-V parked on Henry […]

To the Rescue at 2 Pierrepont Place

The sound of a jackhammer drew me to my window this morning, where I saw workers digging up both the sidewalk and the street (nevertheless, Pierrepont Place is open to traffic) and pumping out water, in an evident response to the flooding of 2 Pierrepont Place.

Mr. Junkersfeld to the Rescue of Historic Brownstone

This morning while walking on Pierrepont Place, BHB’s Karl Junkersfeld noticed that there was flooding at historic No. 2 Pierrepont Place.  He enlisted the help of a passerby to call 311 and alert them of the situation.  A neighbor called the owners. Our Claude Scales adds: This afternoon I looked out my window and saw […]
