Brownstoner: 72 Poplar Renovation Plans Approved

“A tipster” said the City’s Department of Buildings has approved the plans of Daten Group LLP, who purchased the former police building at 72 Poplar Street last May for $7.5 million, to convert the building for residential use.

74 Hicks Street Makes List of This Year’s Biggest Sales

Brownstoner reports that 74 Hicks Street has sold for $6 million, making it one of the borough’s biggest sales of the year. Pretty good considering the slight haircut from the original asking price of $6.5 million.

Brooklyn Heights Cinema Under New Ownership

Brownstoner reports that the Brooklyn Heights Cinema, 70 Henry Street (corner of Orange), the previous owner of which has serious legal problems, has been sold to Kenn Lowy, who “said the theater would continue to show independent films and add new programming like a silent movie night with live music once a month.”
