A missive has just arrived at the BHB Blizzard 2010 Newsdesk from our man in the NYC Council Steve Levin. We appreciate his concern about Brooklyn Heights streets being cleared soon. We appreciate even more that this email is an excuse to re-use our totally awesome Photoshopped Levin storm photo:

Dirtbags! Slow Snow Clean Up Sanitation Department Conspiracy “Snitches” Say
The NY Post reports today that the lack of swift snow clean up in Brooklyn Heights and the rest of NYC’s “outer boroughs” was due to a work slow down staged by “Sanitation Department bosses” to protest budget cuts in the division. The “plot” was uncovered by NYC Council member Dan Halloran of Queens:
Name That Storm
Homer called last February’s storm “Snowpocalypse”, a name that has been used for the recent event by Melissa Whitworth, the Brooklyn resident New York correspondent for Britain’s The Telegraph. Meanwhile, Gothamist has come up with “Blizzageddon”. Any other suggestions? (Mine would be Gale, but that dates me.)
DSNY invades the Heights or Is Your Street Plowed Yet?

Waiting for Go-Tow: Sanitation Plows Struggle for Hours on Columbia Place (Video)
BHB reader @tarekp sends in this video of two NYC Sanitation garbage truck/plows attempting to navigate Columbia Place yesterday. How long did it take them? Let’s just say that it’s a time-lapse video. See it after the jump.
Channel 7 Talks to Owner of Snow Plowed Auto
WABC-TV spoke to the owner of one of the cars smashed by city sanitation workers towing a plow yesterday at Hicks and Joralemon Streets, who asked to remain anonymous. Why? Seems like she fears retribution by angry sanitation workers.
