Never Again! Levin Sends Firm Yet Warm and Fuzzy Email About Snow Screw Up to District
A missive has just arrived at the BHB Blizzard 2010 Newsdesk from our man in the NYC Council Steve Levin. We appreciate his concern about Brooklyn Heights streets being cleared soon. We appreciate even more that this email is an excuse to re-use our totally awesome Photoshopped Levin storm photo:
Name That Storm
Homer called last February’s storm “Snowpocalypse”, a name that has been used for the recent event by Melissa Whitworth, the Brooklyn resident New York correspondent for Britain’s The Telegraph. Meanwhile, Gothamist has come up with “Blizzageddon”. Any other suggestions? (Mine would be Gale, but that dates me.)

We received this suggestion for an Open Thread topic from a BHB reader who wishes to remain anonymous. It’s about being kind to your neighbors, being courteous and maybe SHOVELING YOUR SIDEWALK after a blizzard. Here’s the full email:
Clark Street Finally Plowed
Clark Street, like most streets in Brooklyn Heights, remained unplowed since Sunday’s storm. Last night plows finally arrived and cleared the way as photos tweeted to us from @cfohlin show.

WABC-TV spoke to the owner of one of the cars smashed by city sanitation workers towing a plow yesterday at Hicks and Joralemon Streets, who asked to remain anonymous. Why? Seems like she fears retribution by angry sanitation workers.
