First Taste of Spring

Strollers on the newly ice and snow free Promenade enjoyed a spell of sixty-degree-plus weather this afternoon. Unfortunately, more wet and chilly days are predicted between now and spring’s official start on March 21. Meanwhile, don’t forget a spring ritual tonight: before you go to bed, set your clocks ahead one hour.

One Word…Plastics

Recent high winds have left the otherwise bare branches of many Heights trees festooned with plastic bags and other trash blown out of trash cans or off the ground. An especially large example can be seen streaming from this tree adjacent to the southern end of the Promenade, at the foot of Remsen Street.
