Resting after a journey from points south, this mockingbird roosts on the fence next to the Promenade, behind Two Montague Terrace, at 9:30 this morning.

True. I saw one in the Brooklyn bridge park this morning. He was mocking me as I attempted to scoop up my dogs scattered shot.
There are snowdrops blooming on the north side of the Pineapple Street walkway from Columbia Heights down to the Promenade (I refuse to use the Park Dept’s designation of this as Pineapple Walk, which we know is between Henry and Cadman Plaza West).
I apologize if you’ve hread this before. It is my favorite Brooklyn verse.
Spring has sprung, the grass has ris’,
I wonder where the birdie is?
There he is up in the sky,
He dropped some whitewash in my eye!
I‘m alright, I won’t cry,
I’m just glad that cows can’t fly!
not long until the nice people on Cranberry put out their annual Spring Poem on the magnolia tree. That’s how I know spring is here…
