Just now – tree down on Sidney Place

A 50-foot tree in the back yard of 34 Sidney Place was just uprooted by the post-Hurricane wind gusts and came crashing down on the back side of the building, causing some minor damage to the fraternity at 36 Sidney Place. Fire Dept is on the scene. Share this Story: Tweet

#Hurricane Damage on Clinton Street

Hurricane Irene took its toll on 144 Clinton Street, the former Doctor’s Office (and Bohack Grocery Store for old-timers). The entire 2nd floor window frame has been ripped out by the storm and is lying in the front yard. The building has been unoccupied, so no injuries. Share this Story: Tweet

Hurricane #Irene UPDATE: NYC calling for evacuation of residents in low-lying areas

The Mayor has said that residents in Zone A are advised to leave their homes before the storm arrives and are strongly encouraged to stay with friends or family outside an evacuation zone. Oh là là: Montreal bagels coming Tuesday

Empire Bistro, the new bakery cafe at Atlantic Ave and Clinton St was open for friends today, and on Tuesday will start rolling out it’s sweet “Montreal-style” bagels, along with breakfast pancakes, crepes, and omelettes; luncheon salads and sandwiches; and dinner platters.
