Subway Service Alerts: Weekend and the Following Week

Looks like smooth sledding (something you may be able to do after the approaching storm) again at local stations this coming weekend. The only planned change affecting local traffic over the weekend is that, once again, there will be no 3 train service in either direction all weekend (11:30 p.m. Friday until 5:00 a.m. Monday). This suspension of 3 train service will continue through late nights (12:15 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.) Tuesday through Friday of the following week. As before, 2 trains will be running on the same line at these times, so there will be service, albeit reduced, at Clark Street and on the 2/3 platform at Borough Hall.

The following week, there will be additional complications late at night. The 4 train won’t be running in either direction between Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall in Manhattan and Atlantic Terminal/Barclays Center in Brooklyn from 11:30 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday to Friday. This means no service in either direction at Borough Hall’s 4/5 platform during these hours, as the 5 train doesn’t run to or from Brooklyn at night. Also, Manhattan bound F trains will run on the A/C tracks from 11:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday to Friday, which means no Manhattan bound service at York Street in DUMBO during these hours.

As always, there will be other changes–mostly skipped stations–in Manhattan, The Bronx, Queens, and deeper into Brooklyn, this weekend and late at tnight the following week. For the lowdown on these, check MTA Info–Planned Service Changes.
