Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Nearby

This weekend, late evening Friday, July 12 to early morning Monday, July 15, there will be no service at the 4/5 platforms at Borough Hall, as 4 service to and from Brooklyn will be suspended and 5 trains do not serve Brooklyn on weekends. 2 and 3 trains should be running normally and, for those traveling to and from Brooklyn, 3 trains will be making all the stops from Franklin Avenue-Medgar Evers College to New Lots Avenue normally served only by 4 trains. The reason for the 4 train suspension is that the MTA is installing an ADA compliant elevator at Borough Hall. Access to the 2/3 platforms at Borough Hall will not be affected. 2 trains will be running on a reduced schedule; every 12 minutes.

The following work week, Monday, July 15 through Friday, July 19, late nights all week there will only be Brooklyn bound service at Court Street and at the N/R platforms at Jay Street-MetroTech, as all R train service between Whitehall Street-South Ferry in Manhattan and 59th Street, Brooklyn will be suspended, and Manhattan bound N trains will be re-routed to the Q line between DeKalb Avenue in Brooklyn and Canal Street in Manhattan. Late nights Monday to Tuesday and Tuesday to Wednesday there will be no service at Clark Street or at the 2/3 platforms at Borough Hall, as 2 train service will be suspended between Chambers Street in Manhattan and Atlantic Avenue-Barclays Center, and 3 trains do not serve Brooklyn late at night. 4 trains should be running normally, and will make all 2 train stops between here and Atlantic Avenue.

These are the PLANNED changes affecting local service for this weekend and for the following week. Always check MTA Info for unplanned service changes that may affect local service or service on other parts of your trip, or for planned service changes that affect stations to or from which you may be traveling.
