As much as I like to laugh at the long lines, L’apartment 4f has really helped revitalize Montague St. I think they should be allowed more outdoor seating. It’s the widest sidewalk in the neighborhood. Bringing all these people to the neighborhood really helps all the other businesses.

In its report on the Brooklyn Book Festival, the Eagle used 7 of my photos. Read (and look at) it here:

    Here's one I didn't submit to them:

    Neat photo this:

Who will win the unofficial (no prize but bragging rights) contest to ID precisely where…. Photo from NextDoor's Brooklyn Hts "section." And I'm not sure WHAT's on display, but the comments suggest a Halloween connection of some kind.

Walked by yesterday. The SE corner of Clark and Willow. Not clearly visible is the enormous web, tethered to the ground, with the life-size Spiderman climbing up the front. Here, cropped:

Continually amazed at my fellow pet-owners who let their dogs go to the bathroom in the middle of the sidewalk, on people's stoops, etc. because they're not paying a lick of attention to where the dogs are going.

Look up from your phones, folks, and curb your dog!

Not looking up ensures that they can do exactly as they please while they continue to be part of the entitled crowd….
    play in a loop.

The horror of a torn off cornice, perhaps?

With so little rain this fall (this past weekend notwithstanding), it's made the sidewalks pretty disgusting. Especially when so few homeowners or supers wash their sidewalks regularly.

I was so sad to hear about Perelandra. Also, has anyone been to Jules (new pizza place on Henry) yet? Eager to try!

  • Banet

Have not been but I do absolutely love the Detroit style pizza hole in wall place that replace Cobblestone Foods on Atlantic just east of court (across from the YMCA).

Hoping for any thoughts from the group about how to address a dangerous situation for a woman in the South Heights. I see her regularly on Henry, Joralemon and Court street, walking with her eyes closed often in the middle of the street. She's an older woman – late 50s? early 60s? with straight gray hair down to about her shoulders. She's always wearing dark colored clothes, often carrying a purse. Today she came extremely close to being hit by a car as she tried to cross Clinton via the middle of Joralemon Street. She appeared to proceed without concern for what had just happened. Does anyone know this woman, know whether she is cared for? I can put in a 311 call but since I can't say where she'll be at any moment I'm not sure there's much to be done. Thoughts? Ideas?

Their back gate was open yesterday and I happened to spot the giant gorilla from the past few years. Hopefully he makes an appearance as well. Spider man is such a fun addition!

There are so few places that actually deserve the hype. 4f is definitely one of them.

Yes, I have been and it is so so good! My family over-ordered and had leftovers the next day. We got the eggplant parm, beet salad, a spicy salami, clam, and tomato pie (for our cheese hating daughters)- all were perfection. The first two pies were improvements on similar pies we've eaten- fresher and more punchy flavors. And, they've renovated very nicely- calm and airy and nice banquette seating by the windows. We'll be back a lot.
