Pretzel Logic: Pierson’s Endorsements From The He-Man Vito Lopez Haters Club

Stephen Pierson, incumbent Steve Levin’s Democratic primary challenger in NYC council district 33, held a press conference today to announce several key endorsements.

Even a casual follower of Pierson’s campaign could easily find the common thread among the backers present at the Brooklyn Borough Hall presser – they’re all foes of Levin’s former boss Vito Lopez. In attendance today were Pierson’s advisor Chris Owens, Congresswoman Nydia Velazquez, Democratic State Committeewoman Jo Anne Simon and New Kings Democrats President Alex Low. During her run for Democratic District Leader in the 52nd AD, Simon wrote a guest post for BHB detailing her issues with Lopez.

    Don’t forget Levin beat SImon 4 years ago, too. Bitter. My opinion of Velazquez just dropped. Why would she support a completely unproven candidate just be cause of Lopez? It’s shameful and so short sighted. Levin has worked very hard for us and deserves to continue.
