speaking of that – does anyone know what happened in Pierrepont Park a few nights ago? 4 trucks showed up, including the hook/ladder and NYFD was very interested in the maintenance building

it was around 9pm Wed or Thurs night – the FF’s were all armed with axes, looked around for a while but eventually left

Stuff I saw today after I went to the Grace Church Winter Fair:

Design Within Reach on Montague, whose receptionist swore to me that they weren’t moving—despite a “commercial space for rent” sign on the sidewalk shed outside, and an article in the Brooklyn Daily Eagle—has moved.

Computer Doctor on Atlantic, whose wares simultaneously included computers, honey in gallon containers, luggage and later telescopes, is moving to Schermerhorn Street. The store is mostly empty now.

And Module R, the very expensive but wonderful stuff store, also on Atlantic, is closing at the end of February. They’re having a Big Sale through the end of the month. They will henceforth be only on the Internet.

Homer, I’ll expect the usual Paypal deposit.

The city needs to stop plowing dirty filthy polluted road slush all over the sidewalks on the right side of streets. They don’t do this in Manhattan, they cart away or melt the snow up there but here in Brownstone Brooklyn they plow all that disgusting road slush filled with dog poo, salt, tire residue, nasty toxic metals etc up on to the cleanly shoveled sidewalks on the right side of streets where there are no cars parked.so we can all walk in it and track it into our homes..

Hey Heights Cafe! Just because you’re closed for renovations doesn’t mean you don’t have to clear your sidewalk! By the way, your food sucks!

I lost a toddler size eight Kamik rain boot this morning between eight and Nine. I checked it at Pierrepont and Henry, walked up the South side of Pierrepont and turned on Cadman Plaza West, which I crossed at Montague. Across the plaza and down the stairs to Adams Street, then over to Joralemon in search of smaller puddles. At Joralemon and Adams, someone told me my son (who was riding in a backpack) had only one boot.

    Anybody find a boot?
