Bike Shares Bloom on Remsen Street

New York City’s transformation
into Amsterdam is moving forward, as Citi Bike Share stands are currently being installed on the corner of Remsen and Hicks. Additional stations in the neighborhood will include Clark and Henry, Clark and Montague, Clinton and Joralemon, and Borough Hall.

    Wrong.
I for one, own 2 bikes, have a car and just signed up for a year membership in the Bike Share Program, which I envision using regularly. I ride anytime of year, even in the winter on all but the foulest days. It will become a valuable transportation option for NYC. You obviously don’t ride so you don’t get it.

Many Bike Share programs operate in winter. You do realize Monroe that this is not some new fangled idea. Bike share programs have been in operation in many cities for many years already.

these pictures only prove that no one in Amsterdam pedals immediately following a snowfall…

i recall that they plan to add/remove bikes/dock based on usage and seasons, so i’m sure it will all be fine

it will certainly be an interesting change for transportation around the city and i’m looking forward to it

i don’t get the panic and arguments of the sightliness of it – parked cars are certainly nothing to look at and are only hard to get around. at least with these, you can pass through it and cross the street more easily, see better down the block

enough with the naysaying! complain if/when graffiti, crazy against traffic flow, mass inconvenience starts – but it will be a nice change, maybe open up some seats on the subway and make this a more pleasant place

(not that the Heights isn’t already))
