Ripped from today’s headlines, it’s this week’s police blotter.
Since this is a blotter, let me make a confession—I was not able to make it to the 8-4 yesterday. But it was for a good cause: I was in Pittsburgh interviewing a Carnegie Mellon grad student who monitors dialects on Twitter. This is all for my New York accent documentary—yes, I’m still in production, wanna make somethin’ of it?
At any rate, ripped from today’s online headlines, I bring you the blotter:
The Front St. Starbucks was the site of an electronics theft on Sunday; similar to the incident where a cameraman had all his equipment stolen from his car, this lucky fella turned his back on $4,700 worth of camera equipment in his backpack. It too, disappeared. Though usually the victims say they turned their heads for “only a second.” In this case, he said he looked away from the goods for half an hour.
A 19-year-old man allegedly attacked a 47-year-old court officer after the vehicle transporting him pulled into the Brooklyn Supreme Court.
A man working out at Equinox for a whopping 10 minutes returned to his unlocked locker and found his wallet gone. And that, your Honor, is this week’s blotter.
