As reported by Adam Daly in the Brooklyn Paper, an employee of the UPS store at 137 Montague Street has been accused of stealing a Rolex Submariner watch, valued at $9,500. A customer had sold the watch on eBay and brought it to UPS on December 22 for shipment “to an eBay authentication center in Ohio.” He was given a receipt with a tracking number, but when he tried to track it got no response, so he contacted UPS. He was “told that his package had been stolen by the staff member who had given him the tracking number.” The Brooklyn Paper contacted the 84th Precinct, which said no arrest has yet been made and the investigation is ongoing. A UPS representative told the Brooklyn Paper that they are “currently working with the owner of the Brooklyn Heights store to ‘take care’ of the impacted customer.”
