Seasons is the New Name of Bread and Butter

As previously reported, Bread and Butter [46 Henry Street] is being taken over by the owners of Picket Fence in Ditmas Park. BHB has learned that the name will be changed to Seasons. No word on an opening date yet.

Karl Junkersfeld ventured out into the far away and mystical land of Ditmas Park to check out Picket Fence. He came back with a video report about the eatery as well as the neighborhood. Watch it after the jump.

    I think they should have called it “46”, or maybe “7th Time Around”, or “Your Third Choice after Henry’s End and Noodle Pudding” (j/k).

    But “Seasons” is a bit generic, no?

    OTOH, if it’s a success, I think “Seasons” would make a great name for a restaurant chain.

    Good-I like Picket Fence. I hope they have their unlimited mimosa brunch!

    I think the important thing is that the spot be occupied, and by another restaurant.

    A prediction: Seasons will offer a worthy, middle-of-the-road dining experience that will be welcomed by some, but to which (many) others will finally be indifferent.

    It will last for a time and then depart.

    People that know only brownstone brooklyn neightborhoods can’t believe how nice some other sections are, too. You’ll have to check out Sheepshead Bay and Mill Basin (when spring comes.)

    @Lois- agreed… I think a lot of people in BH would be shocked to see some of the homes that are in Ditmas Park. Who doesn’t love an 8 bedroom Victorian house????

  • Hicks St Guy

    @lois, MIll Basin? you’re kidding, I hope.

    Great video. Loved the tour of the Victorian houses (complete with applause at the end). I bet it’s even nicer in the summer with leaves on all of those trees. Will have to get out there one of these days.

    Go one block down to Prospect Park South where you can continue your love affair with Brooklyn….and if anyone is interested, I have a house for sale there….seriously

    I liked B&B.. they had awesome mac and cheese. They kept changing the menu, though, and that was frustrating. Too bad about them closing. Anyone know why?
