Battling for Brooklyn Heights, by Heights preservation pioneer, Brooklyn Heights Association board member, and 2010 BHB Ten honoree Martin L. Schneider, will be the subject of a celebration sponsored by the Historic Districts Council and the New York Preservation Archive Project, to be held on Tuesday, February 22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the World Monuments Fund, 350 Fifth Avenue (Empire State Building), Suite 2412. The book is available at the Brooklyn Historical Society, the Brooklyn Women’s Exchange, and BookCourt. Update: Admission is $5, payable by PayPal or at the door; free for students and Friends of HDC or NYPAP. The event will also include a screening of Schneider’s documentary, co-produced by BHB’s Karl Junkersfeld: Brooklyn Is My Neighborhood: The Story of New York’s First Historic District”.
