Lookey Loo – 220 Columbia Heights #5

Brownstoner made this sweet pad at 220 Columbia Heights its House of the Day today and we couldn’t resist sharing the official marketing video with you. Holy moley! Priced at $2.125 million, it’s just out of our BHB Clubhouse budget. Which is killing us because this Renaissance Revival building is named checked on page 53 of Clay Lancaster’s seminal book Old Brooklyn Heights: New York’s First Suburb.

It’s listed at Halstead by agents/video stars Thomas Brophy and Linda VanderWoude.

maybe it was because the video was buffering, but i could sworn she said it has its own “lagoggia” rather than loggia??? what exactly IS a lagoggia?

I think this is the same building that is here in the Brooklyn Library Archives, from 1921. It was described back then as an “adobe, Spanish-style house”. That rooftop is remarkable, and I’ve been wondering for a few years now if it still existed. I guess it does, for the most part!

Ok, Qfwfq hates the term “lookey loo”… anyone have a better title if this becomes an ongoing series?
