A new section of Brooklyn Bridge Park, upland from Pier Two (the one with the basketball courts and other athletic facilities), opened recently. It includes a water feature, seen in the photo taken by your correspondent today), with fountains that jet up at intervals, providing cooling relief on hot days like today and fun for kids. At the left of the photo is part of an oval shaped lawn that will probably, like others in the park, be popular for sunbathing.
