Can anyone recommend a great dermatologist, specifically someone who is an expert on rosacea? Thanks!

No, not in Brooklyn. Yes, a terrific guy who’s a superb diagnostician. I’ve been seeing him since we’ve both been pups.

I used John Romano for years when I lived there.

    Thanks all!

Cadman Plaza West – cross here for Cadman Plaza West. Has anybody noticed an increase in the frequency of the audible cross walk at the beginning of Montague?? It seems to go off at least every two minutes.

As of now the area is cordoned off and they’re pumping out water.

I love the Brooklyn accent of the guy whose voice they recorded. Like instead of hiring a neutral voiced actor they just asked Bob from Security to step into the booth.

  • Cranberry Beret

I’ve always liked to imagine the voice belongs to the director of Brooklyn DOT.

  • Cranberry Beret

I understand the long-ago use, but wouldn’t they always have wanted to keep out the water? I don’t understand how a dead body changes that

  • http://www.yotamzohar.com StudioBrooklyn

Well, a dead body marinating in water is like the worst kind of cooties. They’d want to flush that out. Although admittedly i don’t really understand (a) what body or container of water this corpse was floating in, (b) why or how such a water container exists below some row houses, and (c) how the guy got in there. Many questions!

    Looking forward to it!

Ditto the guy the MTA’s tapped to do the recording about riding or navigating between subway cars, which, he says, can be “vewy dangaous….”

Apparently the basement or subbasement was still an active catchment for river water. It perfectly illustrates the greed of the developer who neglected to have it sealed off and the profound stupidity of anyone who bought a home above such a thing.

This is a one-off complaint about the school bus from Safe Coach Inc. that sits idling for more than the 5 minutes allowed by law on Hicks and Grace Ct. every morning. I contacted the company regarding this to no avail. Just called 311 to lodge a complaint. I would like to see more pubic awareness and enforcement of idling laws in our fare city.

the new york times did a feature on him in 2012. You’re almost right. The DOT electrician just did it himself at his desk with a 90s computer mic

Apparently when the BQE was built, Robert Moses had the western half of the pumping station encased in the highway structure rather than having it rebuilt with a new wall. Bizarre building…

  • Andrew Porter

It was empty for so many years. I remember when someone acquired it, made it into apartments. But I wasn’t aware there was a sealed-off bottom chamber (perhaps where pumps used to be?).

There was an article a week ago in the NYT (“Air Pollution Fears Put London’s Ice Cream Trucks at Risk”). I know they do that here. Electric ice cream trucks are under development over there.

Thursday night, some time after 9pm, a horde—I’d estimate at least 50—of really loud motorcycles, some without headlights on, all seemingly without mufflers, came thundering down my street and turned onto Henry.

I called 911. I’ve seen news stories about this sort of swarming behavior before; never thought they’d decide to invade the Heights.

Anyone else see them or take photos?

  • T.K. Small

    I heard them… Incredibly loud!

  • Jorale-man

I saw that and immediately thought of the truck that parks by the Promenade entrance all summer long. I hope he gets a new truck soon.

  • http://www.yotamzohar.com StudioBrooklyn

I’d be willing to lead a crowdsourcing campaign to buy him one. That’s Mike—he’s a neighborhood institution.

  • CassieVonMontague

Please do. I love ice cream, but I don’t love it so much overlook idling trucks next to children.
