P.S. 8 Chorus Rocks St. Francis

The P.S. 8 chorus performed at St. Francis College last week.  Here’s a video featuring them and a lovely comfort shoe.

Examiner.com: The second, third, fourth and fifth graders performed for the first time outside their school in Brooklyn Heights. In another auspicious first, the P.S. 8 Chorus was the only children’s chorus ever to perform at St. Francis College. From the audience, though, it looked as if the children had been performing together for years. Ms. Martin, always so kind yet firm, led the children as they sang their hearts out for their beloved music teacher.

My face almost hurts from the 8-minute-plus smile. The kids are delicious — and they scat! Great work!

If you’ve got 8 minutes and 19 seconds to spare, watch this – you won’t be sorry.

Ms. Martin is a true choral wizard. I never suspected that my daughter (front and center) was capable of singing like this, and she never let on by practicing at home, so I was as blown away by the performance as everyone else in the audience.

I know one of the boys in the front who has come to my readings since he was in a stroller. So adorable. I’m impressed. Arts in the Schools Rule!
