As we approach this new era, I’m reminded of that old “slogan, think globally, act locally.” I know, cheesy, but applicable.

One nonprofit organization in our area that does good work in this regard is the Arab American Family Support Center on Court St. They have an excellent series of programs to help immigrants and others who need help with English language skills and other services.

There are other volunteer opportunities nearby too. I’d put in a plug for New York Cares as a good place to start in finding one.

    thanks for the positivity.

Does anyone know how to find out the election results specific to 11201?

  • ColumbiaHeightster

Subway ride this morning was a nice reminder that we are still lucky to live in a community where diversity, inclusion, and hope are valued, even if much of the country does not hold those ideals. I am proud of the way our city voted.

  • St. Georgette

    Thank you.

If Bernie had won the nomination from the Democrats, Trump would have lost the election. The Clinton’s political corruption had to be stopped. It was a fatal cancer.

  • Heights Observer

I am not so sure that is true. When rustbelt America thinks socialism, they think Bernie and they HATES socialism. And the fact that Bernie and his wife honeymooned in the USSR would have made a great campaign commercial!

  • DIBS

Impossible to know. I bet you are basing that on some polls that were taken way back when. LOL

  • gc

I am a Bernie fan but think Bernie was a maybe while Biden was a sure thing.

  • DIBS

Also something that is totally unknowable.

  • gc

That is why I said I think rather than I know.

  • DIBS

Then you should have worded the two parts of the sentence differently as “while Biden was a sure thing” sounds well, like it sounds.

The BOE has not yet posted the election district level data:

When it’s available the “ED Level” data can be used to compile results for larger geographies. You’ll need to choose the election districts that fall in zip code 11201. ED level maps are here:

ED 52 is a good starting point:

    How does supercilious sound?

  • DIBS

That may be but I can’t read the minds of people who can’t post grammatically correct sentences.

  • CHatter

Though you can, apparently, post nonsensical sentences (or is it really true that you *can* read the minds of the grammatically virtuous(?); if so, three guess as to what I’m thinking right now….).

  • DIBS

Nothing to add to the political comments at hand???

  • wally o’keefe

Clinton’s corruption destroyed the election. That’s all folks!

Yeah, but Trump’s coziness with Putin didn’t seem to negatively affect him.

  • rss

I agree, I think Biden or Bernie would have won.
Honestly, I’m still in shock. It’s going to be a wild ride.

  • HereToStay

Just wanted to note… Trump is NOT anti-Muslim… Thanka.

  • HereToStay

Lol. Do you know how ridiculous you sound? You think overy half the nation. Is racist? Trump is not against anyone other than illegal immigrants and refugees with hidden agendas. Jeez – get out of the populist media bubble.

  • Concerned

Dibs, doesn’t Bucks county have a blog? If not, start one. Leave.

  • Diesel

Why are you giving him a hard time? he posted links to some good articles.

  • Concerned

    1) because he’s a jerk, 2) b/c posting a link to a few articles doesn’t make up for him being a jerk, 3) if you keep looking in the rest of his posts (besides the links) he’s being a jerk, again. Now go be a good doggy and go pee on Trump supporter. Better yet, bite one.

  • Diesel

Don’t try to patronize me, you might be the one that gets bitten!
