    No, I’m being accurate

MWS: This will be my final post addressing you directly. It gives me great pleasure to know how much your ideology has failed to make any impact on the neighborhood, city, state, and country you live in. You have lived to see equal rights tentatively extended to women, African Americans, and LGBTs. You have been alive to see four women serve on the Supreme Court and a woman serve as Speaker of the House. A biracial son of an American mother and Kenyan father has been our President for nearly eight years. A woman will soon be the Presidential nominee of a major party. Her campaign office literally looms over your building. And in November she will soundly defeat a bigot that represents the decaying ideas of a dying generation.

This same progress has left you cowering in an apartment regurgitating OTO spells, conspiracy theories, and other gibberish as a diverse group of New Yorkers stroll by your window on their way to BBP.

Your ideas are menacing but you are not. Your comments are the burden the readers of this blog must bear. In the future, when I see one of your many nom de guerres, I will simply skip over your comment. I will also smile knowing that you have lost the war of ideas so completely that your only mediums of expression appear to be this blog and sparsely attended Community Board meetings. The twilight of a bigot is a beautiful thing.

Then why does the AFP have the amount of subscribers it does in this area?

  • CHASESGILBERT

    Ok, Nazi.

  • CHASESGILBERT

So so so well said. And you’ve inspired me to do the same. He lost the same cultural war that he only marigninally even fought.

Refusing to read or address his comments will make him feel lonelier and more pathetic than he already is.

Well done, friend. If you’re ever thirsty, coffee’s on me.

  • Eddyde

    I think I just witnessed a miracle:)

  • Rockabilly Rules

You did, you just saw who and what REALLY controls the Heights blog…..

It’s just exactly as I always told everybody. When they can’t answer they threaten violence..when they can’t intimidate they outright ban opposing voices. Very typical

  • StudioBrooklyn

Can we set up the meet-and-greet now please? Not this weekend. Maybe next week. Thank you.

  • CHASESGILBERT

I’m in awe. I think we’re finally free.

  • CHASESGILBERT

Yes! Next weekend would be great for me. I think it’s a great idea. Who else is in?

  • StudioBrooklyn

Cool. I just really don’t want to be the one to organize it. :)

  • CHASESGILBERT

    Lol, me neither.

  • StudioBrooklyn

Did I see you riding your bike home yesterday evening? I nearly yelled.

  • CHASESGILBERT

Ha! No, I’m a citibike guy. And I only ride down Red Hook way after I got hit by a taxi last month off Grace Ct.

  • StudioBrooklyn

Yikes! Hmm, must have been some other guy who vaguely resembled you and was riding toward the corner of Willow and Pierrepont. Good thing I didn’t shout.

  • CHASESGILBERT

Whoever it is, keep yelling hello. One of these days it’ll be the right guy :-)

  • StudioBrooklyn

Marina’s coming in. I prefer this one to Marina Abramovic, for the record. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/9b13d23979ccb5e1b9a3b6b1edb4080054e667bc0fee998fe01c228577c7f909.jpg

  • AEB

At least until tomorrow. But, thank you, Jesus! I mean, Claude.

  • ColumbiaHeightster

Seeing a ton of deleted comments. I think I know whose comments these were, but just out of curiosity, why were they deleted? Certainly not advocating to bring them back, just wondering. Thanks.

  • CHASESGILBERT

I did notice that previous comments on other threads were also deleted. Let’s hope for a Jeff-FREE Wednesday.

  • AEB

They were all Jeffrey Smith’s posts, under his multiple AKAs. He posted too much; his posts were often racist or so to the right as to fall of one’s computer screen, not to mention scurrilous; and of the beating-a-dead-horse variety. He violated multiple BHB Terms of Service. He is, with any luck, gone.

  • ColumbiaHeightster

    Thanks.

  • AEB

He was obsessed with two or three topics. The word “crank” probably sums him up.

  • CHASESGILBERT

He is also a correspondent and distribution manager for American Free Press – which was born out of The Spotlight, a viscously antisemitic and hate mongering publication he passed around the Heights in the 70’s. Themes of holocaust denial, the occult, and racism against everyone from Muslims to the British plague his mind.

Beyond all that, he was hijacking the feed to propagate his horrific viewpoints. And lastly, attempting to degrade the late Homer Fink’s good name.

Not a great representative for our beautiful community.

  • ColumbiaHeightster

Agreed. Not to pander, but you’ve been a welcome addition to this space CHASEGILBERT. My own contributions have dwindled in recent years, in no small part due to the vitriolic trend of Open Thread Wednesday, but I’ve been appreciating your voice.

  • CHASESGILBERT

Thank you very much! I’ve lived here for eleven years – save for 5 years in Morocco – and I’m passionate about the neighborhood.

I really appreciate your kind words ; ))

  • Eddyde

I was literally typing a reply when I saw all his comments just disappear!
A fitting punishment for a miserable bigot as he now knows the product of all his countless hours ranting here, is gone forever.

  • Eddyde

I’m down, the last ones were fun.
All we gotta do is pick a place and a time.

  • StudioBrooklyn

I second that sentiment, but I want to add that this isn’t the first time he’s been in violation of the TOS, only to resurface later and continue right where he left off.

In the past I’ve expressed sadness that he seems to be suffering from some unchecked condition, whether it’s chemical or psychological in nature, symptomatic of not having an adequate support network “AFK” (offline, in the so-called real world). It’s in my nature to feel sympathy for, rather than get angry at, people who are obviously poisoned with hatred.

For this reason, you may notice, I’ve been very careful not to address any substantial comments to him directly, or to openly denigrate him–or, for that matter, to comment on others who choose to do so (that’s their choice, which I respect). I continue to feel that way, but at the same time it shouldn’t have to always be our problem to deal with or to have to negotiate the side effects.

I hope that in his absence the rest of us will show the camaraderie that makes this neighborhood so deserving of the love we all have for it.

  • StudioBrooklyn

There was a BHB drinking meet up in the past?!
