My neighbor is hosting a film shoot of some kind in her apartment. Is a permit required?

Our new buskers under the sundial on the north end of the Promenade. Ray Charles is easy to identify, and I am going to say that’s Karl Marx on saxophone. https://uploads.disquscdn.com/images/7368c8d5e4f907f3e2a2de258495b45131d2e9d77d73ba11a188566d25ddc015.jpg

Not from the city. But your landlord likely needs to approve it if she’s being financially compensated. And if it’s a co-op or condo, then the proprietary lease/house rules can be checked.

It looks like there’s an Atlantic Cup boat race docking at the new marina in Brooklyn Bridge Park late next month: http://www.brooklynbridgepark.org/press/atlantic-cup-competitors-to-cruise-into-brooklyn-for-fifth-anniversary-of-race

Incidentally, I notice that they’ve completely dug up the lawn in the center of the park, near Pier 3. The grass had largely died there last summer with all of the foot traffic.

Fascinating neighborhood-by-neighborhood tally of last night’s votes at http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2016/04/19/us/elections/new-york-city-republican-primary-results.html#14/40.6710/-73.9871.
OK, now fess up: which 171 of you jokers voted for Trump or Cruz?
(obviously jk, vote for whomever you want)

As a confirmed political science geek, this data is more than interesting and validates my hypothesis. I was quite confident that Kasich would do well in this area.

  • DIBS

Why should it even matter to you? You didn’t say it was disruptive to your life.

  • CHASESGILBERT

Perhaps I’m entitled to my own curiosity without having to explain it personally to you?

  • mlcraryville

I love the graphic. Since it shows where the Sanders supporters are, it can serve perfectly as a road map for Snake Oil salesmen.

Spots around NYC where a stronger emphasis on education is needed!

Do you mean they dug up where the mirrored column art was? They had a substantial underground footing for those columns to keep them stable. It had to come out. The cost of this was covered by the Public Art Fund grant that paid for the installation.

  • StudioBrooklyn

Who does the well educated person vote for in this primary? Just curious.

  • Jorale-man

Good to know – thanks for the info.

  • Diane Davis

Does anyone know what is happening at 67 Livingston now? It seems deserted. Was a 5-year lease from the Art Institute.

  • Jeff Smith

I’m proud to say, Willow Street, the HEART OF THE HEIGHTS!!! gave Trump the highest support of any Heights E.D. 38.9% bucking the trend. So all you Mr Rodgers supporters can go….

Now tell us all about Mena Ark, Vince Foster, Removing evidence, swapped servers….

I saw a really great film Everyone should see its titled:Vaxxxed

The film exposes the ultra ugly political and human victims reality of the vaccine industry. Everyone should see this movie!!!

One thing though; they interview a mother in wonderful britian and when you give birth in britian the government demands that they inspect your infant child at regular intervals inside your home. And they can take your child on whatever grounds they say.

Unfortunately, this speech by John Kasich occurred the same day that Paul Ryan made his announcement about not running under any circumstances and it ended up getting buried. For me, it was very presidential. Sadly, more people are interested in the carnival barker.

Have you considered a new psychiatrist? You’re not making any progress with your severe obsessive compulsive disorder.

    Figures, You trump-up everything.

  • CHASESGILBERT

You must be joking. Vaxxxed? Hahahahaha.

  • Andrew Porter

I’ve got some great films by Goebbels that also tell the truth on another topic.

I walked by the scaffolding around the Heights Cinema, and it looks like they stopped in mid-erection. The steel was erected so you couldn’t walk through the sidewalk shed. Anyone know what’s going on there?

  • http://selfabsorbedboomer.blogspot.com/ Claude Scales

Actually, they have dug up the entire lawn, even north of where the mirror labyrinth was. Probably, as Jorale-man suggests, because of the damage caused by heavy foot traffic.

  • Concerned

It sounds like they had second thoughts…

The builders need some Cialis or Viagra?

Jeff, Jeff, Jeff: you’re so much better when you stick to cars or music.

In the past week I’ve once again heard a helicopter around 3 AM, passing over the neighborhood couple of times. I seem to recall in a past thread someone else specifically mentioning 3 AM helicopter noise as well. I wonder what this could be? If it’s seemingly routine in nature….I did file a 311 complaint though with the link someone had provided here a while back!

  • Concerned

Not that I support Trump, because I don’t. But maybe the republican base is starting to see what others have seen for years. i.e. the “fact” that the republicans understand the economy is a monster lie!!! The real fact is, trickle down economics and supply side economics are constantly shown to be disastrous in the american economy. I’m always shocked that the press/democrats never call this out. When has trickledown/supply side worked for the USA economy!?! It NEVER has!!! It’s also a MAJOR lie that the republicans care more about the military. The GOP are a bunch of weak, terrible disgusting chicken hawks who would never send their own sons to war. But once again, the GOP are “friends” of the military. That’s complete BS! Even worse, the GOP short change the VA in hopes of private interests taking over, thereby short changing the veterans who sacrificed their lives so their corporate buddies can make a bigger buck.
And your buddy Kasich… were you aware that for years, Ohio never had a state cause of action for military members who were discriminated against in their employment? It took a democrat as governor to remedy that. So, please, vote however you’d like, but just remember that the weak pathetic GOP’ers who promise a better economy and that they’re “military strong” are really chicken hawk wimps who have no skin in the game, and their economic theories have been tested over and over again, and the result is tried tested and true FAILURE.
