    Not just Clinton Street.

What do you mean by a plate – something other than pizza?

If so, there stinginess on Parmesan for Pizza is even stranger. I have been refused many times. As has this guy, search for “parmesan.” http://www.yelp.com/biz/fascati-pizza-brooklyn

  • Jorale-man

Sad, but true. Clinton just happens to have a lot of Bridge-bound traffic backups and drivers somehow believe that holding their horns down will improve the situation.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlsiLOnWCoI Arch Stanton

Yep they have plates and hero sandwiches.
I never heard of anyone putting Parmesan on pizza, are you from NYC?

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlsiLOnWCoI Arch Stanton

    A made up story.
    1. Fascati’s wasn’t around in the late 60’s.
    2. How would old men in Carol Gardens know WTF Fascati’s is, they wouldn’t get the “joke”.
    3. It’s not even funny.

  • Concerned

    Arch Stanton,
“Are you from NYC?” You sound like a jerk. Are there NYC rules about condiments!?! Give me a break. Plenty of people put parmesan on pizza. I personally don’t. I like Fascati’s with a heaping of garlic powder; is that an “NYC rule” violation???

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlsiLOnWCoI Arch Stanton

Yes I am from NYC, I never heard of anyone putting Parmesan on pizza, after its baked. thought it might be a common practice elsewhere. Perhaps the reason the Fascati’s crew seemed so reluctant to honor the request is they never heard of it either?

  • Willow Street Watch

I remember our humor in the 1969 to 72 era but it could have been later say ’72 to 73 or close but the reaction we got was to the idea someone would name a pizza fascisti and the box playing the tune. Of course, a lot of the old Italian guys knew exactly what we were mock suggesing….and so did the old commies who really did go nearly flatline at the very idea. We also later suggested, to make it even worse, that the countermen would wear black shirts…

And it doesn’t matter if some PC type doesnt think this was funny,

The entire idea/series of incidents caused is a part of the secret/ “colorful” history of the Heights.

  • Willow Street Watch!!!

With all the very serious conditions effecting, and threatening, the Heights, you people are using Time and space on the availability of….Pizza Condiments?!!!!

    What geniuses.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlsiLOnWCoI Arch Stanton

Ah Shudafacup, Jeffery. I’m not interested in participating in your paranoia.

  • Roberto Gautier

I’ve taken the survey and will follow up on what happens when the results are tallied. Certainly, the outcomes should be published.

What did anyone think about the BHA Annual meeting last night?

  • StudioBrooklyn

I’ve seen, as regular installations throughout the five boroughs as well as in other parts of the country, two condiment shakers on the tables of single-slice-vending pizzerias: one contains crushed red chili peppers, the other contains finely grated parmesan (usually like the terrible kind that Kraft sells in cylindrical jars that don’t need to be refrigerated).

To me it seems unusual for places that sell pizza by the slice not to have these condiments sitting out, readily accessible to customers, very much in the same fashion that coffee shops usually have a surface piled with sweeteners and cream and other stuff people do to mess with their coffee, as well as lids and sleeves and napkins. It’s just part of the “takeaway” setup.

  • StudioBrooklyn

    For dietary balance:
Corporate Clinton Canneloni (served on a Goldman-Sachs fundraiser luncheon plate)
Snakemeat and tongue(s) pizza (in honor of Cruz and his evangelical base)
Ravioli alla Rubio (full of pureed fundraiser cash from defense contractors)
Trump Tortellini (stuffed full of itself, reheated for each order, unpalatable to those who have ever had real food)

Arch needs to get out more

  • StudioBrooklyn

    *looks around*
    We all do.

  • Roberto Gautier

Car horns, beeping backup alarms, motorcycles with altered exhaust pipes, police cars with earth-shaking “rumbler” alarms all fall into the problem category.
It’s a sign of head-in-the-sand officialdom when the NYC DOT removed NO Honking signs a few years ago because “no one was heeding them.” It’s time to revisit that decision. At the same time, one needs to acknowledge this as a difficult infraction to enforce, but also see this as a cultural behavior problem. Plus, as more and more people use cars that really don’t move much and beaten by people walking, this is truly a time for rethinking why these problems persist and multiply.

    To clarify:
Yes, I have seen Parmesan shakers in plenty of pizzerias, I thought it was there for the meatball heroes and such.
I have nothing against someone putting Parmesan on pizza, just never occurred to me and never saw anyone do it, at least not that I can recall.
I will try it as the Arch is not dogmatic.
could be one of those Mayo with French Fries thing, you never know…

    It’s true, I work too much…

    Me a PC type, LOL…

I was saddened by the news that there will be no more BHA House Tours. Apparently it’s gotten much harder to get anyone to open their houses to complete strangers in this ever more paranoid time. No disrespect to posters here intended…

The past and present of 70 Clark Street are discussed over on Brownstoner. I scanned in a Brooklyn Eagle postcard showing the Sands Street Memorial Church, and giving some history in a comment here:

So the prime subject we should use time and attention on is….pizza and condiments. This acccording to certain geniuses present.

Uh, in the absence of anything else, why don’t we get back to the disgraceful treatment of peter Liang. At last night’s BHA show, there were tons of people bleating for more security on Joralemon and elsewhere. This while they, and several DAVOS attendees here,
maintain that what happened to po Liang is just fine.

Here we have the mental flat lines in City Hall and at One Police Plaza
issuing sidearm which by basic design its unsafe for police to have their Finger on the trigger!!! Then, they outsourced replacement internal parts. Send these guys to the next bilderberg….please

Tell you what, I’d take back every striker design and issue the cops S&W Governors!!!

Then we’d see how big these BBP “Gangstas” would be…..

Off your meds again, I see.

  • Jeffrey Smith

With all the very serious issues facing our area, why are we using more time and attention on…pizza and condiments!!!

Let’s address something of some real importance.

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlsiLOnWCoI Arch Stanton

Pizza is food and food is the third most important thing to everyone.
Air is the first most important thing and water is the second.
Now, what issues do you have your panties in such an uproar over?

  • Jeffrey Smith

    Well, what struck me was that the BHA has;
    1) Placed a series of minor figures on the board, this because whenever
there is political/social turbulance, the (remaining) old families place
essentially minor social climbers/careerists up front who above all,
have no visible connection with any casino person or entity.
    2) There has been a real decline in the quality of both attendees and
BHA activists. There has been a big downturn from a recent as last
    year at Grace Church.
    3) Someone has instructed the visible figures to dig in their heels and
to adopt either a this-is-our-policy hard message or to give superficial-
ly polite non responsives to concerns/suggestions.

So I guess the weather, with 50mph winds and heavy rain had nothing to do with the turnout? Actually, considering the weather, I thought the turnout was pretty good.

Question: are you a member? I am. Seems to me without being a member and only sniping at the org, you’re not putting your money where your mouth is.

Your comments about the BHA’s secret masters pulling the strings strike me as illogical conspiracy theories.

  • Andrew Porter

I looked for it, but you didn’t come through.

  • Jeffrey Smith

No, simply not overdosed on oregano like someone.

But really, don’t you think, in the interests of public safety, that this city should switch from units that criminally neglegent police
personnel can abuse to a sidearm which is sob far more safe…not to mention more…well, effective in dark and dangerous project stair-
wells. You and several of your associates should welcome such
    a safety upgrade.
