Borough Hall and Jay St., though dingy, are the only stations in the neighborhood with street-to-platform elevator access (except Brooklyn-bound 4/5). It always struck me as being behind the times that so many stations are completely off limits to anyone in wheelchairs, strollers, or with heavy wheeled items (as well as lazy people with a sense of entitlement who presumably feel taking stairs is out of the question).

Structures in place for rooftop cabanas, which means the view of the water from the BQE overpass will be completely blocked come nice weather.

Well, people should have stopped all this like….eight plus YEARS ago….now the cancer can only be stopped by some really STRONG medicine…any of you have the courage for something that may really work? It involves personal risk?…..

    I thought not.

Well, dibs, here to stay is in this matter 100% correct. Calling the cadman plaza complex a part of or some kind of asset to the real Heights is exactly like calling Popeye’s on court street a good part or some kind of asset/benefit to the Heights. Anyone who has any knowlege of y he real history of the Heights and knows the conditions surrounding the building of the cadman complex/project knowsit was never designed/intended to bepart of the unique ultra high value culture of the Heights. It was simply a receiving area for refugees from Flatbush and especially east flatbush when those neighborhoods “turned”. This is simply the truth.

Now this collection of aging examples of the wonderful flatbush culture which was deposited next to the Heights with with no permission, are posing a new possible serious distortion of our area.

this is just history and now, present reality…..
