This week’s alerts are virtually a duplicate of last week’s. Because of repairs of damage caused by Hurricane Sandy to the tunnels used by A and C trains between Brooklyn and Manhattan, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, August 21 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, August 24 both Brooklyn and Manhattan bound A and C trains will be diverted to the F line between Jay Street/Metro Tech and West 4th Street. This means no service at all at High Street. To get to or from A/C stops in Manhattan below West 4th use the 2 or 3 to or from Clark Street or Borough Hall as an option. This will happen again the following weekend.
The following week, each night from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. Monday, August 24 to Friday, August 28, Fast Track maintenance work on the 2 and 3 line means no service in either direction at Clark Street or at the 2/3 platforms at Borough Hall. To compensate, 5 trains, which don’t normally serve Brooklyn late at night, will run on their usual route, including Borough Hall, all night, and for those traveling into Brooklyn, 4 train service will be extended to New Lots Avenue early.
There are no other planned changes directly affecting service at local stations this coming weekend or the week following. For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, see MTA Info or The Weekender.
