There’s a subway do-si-do this coming weekend (11:45 p.m. Friday, July 10 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, July 13). Manhattan bound A and C trains will be diverted to the F line between Jay Street/Metro Tech and West 4th Street, while Brooklyn bound F trains will be diverted to the A/C line between West 4th and Jay. This means no service from High Street to Manhattan (but more from Manhattan to there) and no service from Manhattan to York Street in DUMBO (but more from there to Manhattan). Meanwhile, those traveling to or from deepest Brooklyn should know that there’s no service this weekend in either direction between Utica and New Lots avenues on the 3 or 4, but shuttle buses will provide alternate service.
The following week (Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 17), late nights (11:45 p.m. to 5:00 a.m.), F trains will reverse their diversion, with Manhattan bound trains diverted to the A/C line. A trains (there’s no C service during late night hours) will be following their normal routes in both directions. This means no Manhattan bound service at York Street. On these same nights, from 10:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., there will be no service in either direction between Court Street or the N/R platform at Jay Street. R trains will stop service early, and N trains will run in Brooklyn between Court Street and Stillwell Avenue.
Got that? There will be a quiz. For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, see MTA Info or The Weekender.
