    It’s good to know I can look out my window and see, directly across the street, a property with an asking price of $40 million. Oh, and one once described as “the most desirable place to live in the world.”

    Actually it’s not. The owner of the building has the right to photograph his property. Check your lease.

    I don’t have a lease, the garden is mine and the bench & cushions, too. They do not belong to the owner. Whether the owner can or can not isn’t the issue. I was respectful of the house & tenants and now I am forced to move AND have pictures taken of the roof that IS part of the apartment that I pay for.

    The new owner will have plenty of money to build new benches and have their own garden. My bench & garden are being moved.

    I am ok w the sale. I don’t like my privacy violated. I don’t shoot pictures of any homes or even think about looking thru windows. If you knew me you would know I am ok w the sale.

    As I commented on Brownstoner.com, “Not, however, a quiet location. It is … next to the Montague Street entrance to the Promenade, where thousands of tourists are bussed in to see the views of Manhattan. The next building is adjacent to the Pierrepont Street Playground. Not very much backyard, either, nor any plantings in front of the building. … the windows are a few feet from the seats along that Montague Street entrance to the Promenade. Double or triple-paned windows are likely needed here.”

    I didn’t say when i was moving. Do you know? I checked a couple of your previous comments to see whether it’s ‘you’ or ‘me’ Probably me. I’m not in the RE business. You either are and/or careless about sharing other people’s lives online. So it must be me.

    Thanks for the offer to help me move. I’ve hired a moving company so we have no need to converse.

    I appreciate the fact that Danielle Pinet & Jeff Keil made sure the picture of my garden was removed from this blog. That’s the only reason I commented on this post to start with — it wasn’t about the sale of house — it was about my privacy on multi-levels.

    3 PP is an amazing house. And I couldn’t have asked for better landlords. I’m sure the next owner will enjoy a close to untarnished view of the NY Harbor. No better spot in NYC and I’m glad I had ability to feel at home thanks to Danielle, Jeff & the peeps in the house : )

    On a side note, real estate agents really overdo the Photoshopping in these pictures. I realize it’s a marketing tool, but anyone can see that the lighting is unnatural and the colors are overstimulated.

    In any case, having just read the NY Times’s long investigation into foreign “shell companies” buying out NYC real estate, hopefully this isn’t destined for the same fate.
