Anyone using an indoor digital TV antenna in the neighborhood? Just got one for a second TV and it’s only pulling in about half of the reportedly available signals. Am interested in hearing my neighbors’ experience. Thanks.

    Brooklyn Heights is CHARLIE?

  • DIBS

I’m coming back to Brooklyn Heights today for five days. Look for the extremely attractive 50 year old in the Borsalino. Looking forward to oysters at Jack.

Has anyone noticed that the Citibike racks on Hicks, Henry and Clinton seem frequently empty? This kind of weather shouldn’t be calling for a lot of demand.

  • nswz11

I use an indoor digital antenna – we’re on the 5th floor of our building (also the top floor). We receive a lot of signals, but most of them are in a foreign language, so we cut it down to all the major networks in HD (CBS, NBC, ABC, FOX, and a few others)

  • Bongo

I don’t think they use very good predictive traffic software. But I disagree with your weather theory. In this weather a short 4 minute bike ride can be better than a 12 minute walk in the cold.

  • Joel

We have an antenna and we got all the major networks except CBS (3rd floor, facing west).

This website is helpful if you try to figure out what do you need to get the channels – http://www.antennaweb.org/Address.aspx

A year-and-a-half in business and Citi Bike still has no clue about how to balance the system … yet they talk about expanding. I would want to get what I have operating well first, says this annual member.

  • Pepper

Oh, come on. You’re way older than 50.

  • MonroeOrange

nope…they will just raise your rates again, go bankrupt again, raise your rates again….repeat

  • gc

have they already gone bankrupt once?

Are these old Christmas trees ever going to be picked up?

No they didn’t. Monroe Orange is just an anti Citibike troll.

Stopped in at Careland yesterday just to take a look and went back today for some basics. The staff was really friendly, everything is 25% off for January (which was great and I was able to get what I needed without having to make another stop at the lovely CVS).

  • Kit

Thanks for the replies/info. I’m getting CBS, NBC, Fox, and a couple of their digital channels. Not ABC or any of the PBS stations. Of the 20 or 21 I receive, many are Spanish language channels.

Does anyone know what’s up with the space next to Tazza? It seems like they’ve been working on it forever. Also, how long is the scaffolding to remain up at the St. George? They don’t even seem to be working on it and it’s been over a year I believe. Aren’t there ordinances about those things? It’s such an eyesore.

  • jibbers

Does anyone know the opening date of the Bossert?

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlsiLOnWCoI Arch Stanton

No but thankfully there is an ordinance against pieces falling off of buildings. Better an eyesore than a sorehead, or dead.

    Why, you need a room?

  • ShinyNewHandle

    I’ll take my chances. Really!

I think you might be better off in a nice gated community out in the suburbs.

  • ShinyNewHandle

    Just finish the job, a’ight?

  • miriamcb

Last I had asked about Tazza, they had rented it out to what was supposed to be a pub. They ran out of $$ when renovating, so this was supposed to generate that lost $$ in rent. But it’s been so long now, who knows!

Well, the scaffolding stops the trash, food, glass wear,
Bricks..all of which the student darlings have long
Decided it was just fine to rain down on the heads
Of passerby’s. And you know how the management
and security is concerned when it happens…

    Keep the overhangs forever….

  • MonroeOrange

Arch, see link below…i dont spew comments that aren’t based in fact ( so maybe bankrupt was the wrong term, but broke as f$%k is pretty accurate) …unlike pretty much everything you say on here…

    Well Arch?

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlsiLOnWCoI Arch Stanton

Your link to an almost year old story, says nothing about Citibike filing for bankruptcy, only that they were having cash flow problems, there is a huge difference. I suppose your reefer eroded brain has a hard time grasping that.

  • MonroeOrange

okay…not sure what reefer has to do with anything…If your short attention span wasn’t so impaired, you can clearly see i said bankrupt wasn’t the right word..but broke def was…or else why would they need all that additional money, for a supposedellly thriving program, as you seem to think it is.

Bye Arch, i hope you and judy enjoy your retirement.

  • heights Correspondent 1

I very rarely comment on the cross
Talk here but its interesting A.S.never
Directly refuted the points of the argument.
And you’ll notice I never receive any valid
Counters to my observations from certain
    Quarters…..

  • http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlsiLOnWCoI Arch Stanton

Reefer as in its long term use results in permeant brain damage

  • MonroeOrange

its financial situation is improving bc it got bailed out! that’s not a thriving company….

Also, even a refeer user, which has no bearing on this conversation, would see how incorrect you are in your statements. We can all see through the haze of your bs (see what i did there)…

Say hi to Judy for me!
