    What’s everyone’s favorite Halloween
    Party music?

  • Justine Swartz

“Kudos to the personnel of Key Food on Montague St.
Care was taken on my delivery order, the fattest blueberries were chosen because they wanted to please me. I would award store # 1072.  **** Four Stars ”

  • AEB

Thank you, Lord, I’ve become a Key Food convert. Perfectly decent store brands. Great sales (like two “pints” of Haagen Daz, any kind, for six bucks). Friendly register people, who actually greet you and suggest money-saving options. Cheap–and good–produce.

Why would anyone shop at Gougestedes? Even my longtime main squeeze, Peas and Pickles, pales by comparison. Take a deep breath and walk those few extra blocks to Montague….

  • Eddyde

Hum… perhaps The Cramps, the Misfits and maybe some Bauhaus.

  • Eddyde

Anyone know what the metal posts being installed along Montague are for?

  • cindy

Well the cramps very wisely drew on the entire History of rockabilly and white rock for some of the best of their
    Material.

    But I remember (john) ZACHERLY
    And the original modern spooky/
    Halloween hit DINNER WITH DRAC.
(My boyfriend still has two of his
    Original Lp’s!!)

Anyone who has NOT heard “Mad
House jump” by the Day lighters
Bring it up of You tube…

Good picks. Add Sisters of Mercy.

Anyone know if mosquitos can transmit Ebola?

  • Jorale-man

I hate to be the dissenting voice on this but I’ve had some pretty awful Key Food experiences recently – specifically at the Atlantic Ave. branch. The degree of crankiness and apathy from the cashiers there never ceases to amaze me.

One case in point: A customer in front of me left her grocery cart in front of the little conveyer belt and ran off with her groceries, not bothering to return it to a storage place. I stood there, staring in disbelief, and the cashier didn’t say anything about the errant cart.

Similarly, many of the cashiers don’t tell you the price, requiring you to look for it on their screen, nor do they say hello or thank you. I completely understand that they have thankless, low-paying jobs and deal with unpleasant people all day, but it is a bit of a 2-way street….Maybe the Montague branch has its act together more.

A convert indeed, as I recall you were one of the biggest Key Food (Montague) bashers on the blog. Anyway, glad you had a change of heart, welcome aboard.

The stores are franchises, the Montague St store has a different owner than the Atlantic Ave location, which has always been rather dreadful.

Ennio Morricone’s “The Good The Bad and The Ugly” comes to mind.

  • David on Middagh

There’s no evidence for that, thank goodness. Just mammals.

There used to be a series of really great
    Spooky/Halloween compilations
Which came out in the 80’s and 90’s
We used to live at Midnight records…
Then play them at like 500 parties
This time of year. We’ll the news is
    The Saucer…been flying around..
I’m the only one seen it on the ground…

  • cindy sm

ZACHERLY is like 96 years old he still
Lives in my friend’s building in Mahn.

And you Know what? He’s STILL “The cool Ghoul”…

I suggest we release Christine in the
Park…She can trash the Shell station
Then fully ablaze drive down Jor. &
    “rearrange attitudes”in the park…

Ba ba bad to the bone…

Let’s see…DOH/HHC is now ready and standing by to control and contain Ebola…really? I think I’ll move to that
Anthrax island off the English coast..
That’ll be safer than here with the
    Brilliant types running things here.

    The Ebola containment program at
    Brookdale, Wycoff, Kings county…
    Help!!!!!

    MIDNIGHT STROLL The Re-Vels…

  • Hicksup

Wait.. what? I’m a friendly midwesterner in BH for 10 years. The cashiers behavior is appalling and downright offensive. I’ll drive to Fairway for decent treatment, thank you.

  • David on Middagh

    “Wait.. what?”

    She called in the order.

  • miriamcb

I’ve also had terrible experiences at Key Foods – including the one on Montague, so we, as a rule, do not go to Key Foods unless everyone else is out of what we need.

  • Andrew Porter

What is this word “drive”? Something to do with golf?

  • Andrew Porter

You’ve got me. Just know that they’re definitely not parking meters. They also look very temporary. Perhaps something for a film shoot? I notice there’s no parking on Montague on Sunday.
