Subway Service Alerts: Brooklyn Heights and Vicinity

Fleet footed Mercury, god of transportation, smiles on us again this weekend (though my wife says he’s in one of his dread retrograde phases, so look out for unplanned problems) as there are no planned cancellations, route diversions, or station skips directly affecting service at any local stations. For the umpteenth time, though, if you’re traveling into Brooklyn, be aware that, from 11:45 p.m. Friday, October 17 to 5:00 a.m. Monday, October 20, the 2, 3, and 4 trains going in that direction won’t be stopping at Bergen Street, Grand Army Plaza, or Eastern Parkway. To get to these stations, you’ll need to ride to Franklin Avenue and catch a Manhattan bound train back to the skipped station. This will continue the following week, Monday, October 20 to Friday, October 24, between the hours of 11:45 p.m. and 5:00 a.m. (except for Wednesday night into Thursday morning). During these late night hours, including on Wednesday, 3 trains will not be running in either direction. You may find–perhaps one of the deity’s tricks up his retrograde sleeve, a train skipping these stations during the day, as one of our readers did during the past week.

For planned service changes that may affect travel on other parts of the system, either during the weekend or the following week, see MTA Info or The Weekender.
