On Friday evening, August 15, at 7:00, Bargemusic will present works by Haydn, Schumann, Beethoven, and Smetana played by pianist Roman Rabinovich. On Saturday evening at 7:00 the St. Petersburg String Quartet (photo) will perform works by Shostakovich, Beethoven, Jeremiah Bornfield, and Dvorak. The concert on Sunday afternoon at 4:00 will feature works by Brahms performed by Anna Rabinova on violin, Leonid Shukayev on cello, and Volodymyr Vynnytsky on piano. The Brooklyn Heights Cinema, which will be closing its doors on August 27 pending a move to DUMBO, is showing Magic in the Moonlight and A Most Wanted Man. On Saturday evening at 11:30 there will be another “almost midnight” showing of Willow Creek. More information and showtimes are here.
On Sunday Smorgasburg will be on the Pier 5 uplands (near the Joralemon Street entrance), Brooklyn Bridge Park, from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and, starting at noon, there will be a free Docent Tour of Pier 1. Baylander will be open for tours Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
