Update on Tree Lighting, Caroling December 18; Now With Free Cookies!

As we noted earlier, this year’s Promenade Christmas tree lighting will be the Wednesday after next, December 18, at 5:30 p.m. at the Montague Street entrance to the Promenade. Following the lighting ceremony (Marty Markowitz has been a faithful attendee; will Beep-to-Be Eric Adams be there this year?) the Grace & Spiritus Chorale will lead caroling along Montague Street. We have now learned that, starting at 6:00 p.m., Lassen & Hennigs will provide carolers with “free cookies and refreshments.”

    Seems late this year.

I was just going to say the same. Why wait until Dec. 18? Are they hoping to save electricity? I’m not in the camp of decorating just after Halloween but after Thanksgiving seems reasonable.
