The lights on the menorah at the Montague Street entrance to the Promenade, sponsored by Chabad of Brooklyn Heights, are already shining. Tomorrow (Monday, December 2) at 5:30 p.m. there will be a ceremonial lighting of the giant menorah, also sponsored by Chabad, in Columbus Park in front of the Supreme Court building. Also tomorrow at 5:30 there will be a Christmas tree lighting in front of 2 MetroTech Center, with appearances by Santa and the Brooklyn Nets, carol singing, and cookies with hot chocolate. The Borough Hall tree will be lit, with help from Santa, on Tuesday, December 10, time to be announced. The Brooklyn Heights Garden Club will have their 63rd annual tree lighting at the Montague Street entrance to the Promenade on Wednesday, December 18 at 5:30 p.m., after which the Grace & Spiritus Chorale will lead caroling along Montague Street. Lights are now up on the trees along Montague Street. Yesterday your correspondent saw the bunches in the photo above ready to be unstrung and wound around branches.
