What’s going on with the construction and projected opening date for the new Bossert Hotel? I was psyched for the rooftop bar to be open for this summer but it doesn’t look like a lot of work (or any, in fact) is going on there at the moment.

Anywhere local that will deliver and remove Christmas trees? I know that the folks at St. Anne’s Church (Adam Parke) used to deliver and pick up, but I think they stopped that service last year. Thanks.

  • JoT

Anyone know what the deal is with the Montague Street holiday lights this year? Unlike past years, it seems they stopped putting them up west of Hicks, save one lone tree halfway down the block. Who’s the grinch? ;)

what’s up with the wayback fast food joint on livingston? i
seems like it’s never open (it’s not good, at any rate), but they advertise breakfast, lunch, and dinner – but the gate’s always down.

Any updates on what is going on with the depressed townhouse on the corner of Monroe/Clarke? What an eyesore! It looks like someone was there recently and cleaned up all of the leaves outside…

Has anyone tried the paella at the new Taperia on Montague?

  • Lori

The “little lady” and her son in front of Key Food deliver, but I don’t know about removing.

  • Lori

No, they are working. There are still 4 or 5 old residents at the hotel.

  • neighboronhicks

my man loved it! i had a bite and it was quite yummy.

  • BrooklynCoffeeLover

    Maybe that was the wind.

Any recommendations for a good dentist? Thanks!

  • Jorale-man

Yes, I saw a truck with a crane lifting drywall up to a high floor yesterday. They must be doing some real reconfiguring in some of the apartments to turn them back into hotel rooms.

Had a bowl on Saturday night and enjoyed it, I’m no connoisseur on paella but would have again. Also enjoyed the live music and the happy hour at 10pm!

I have been using Eric Last for almost 20 years; he and his staff are terrific: http://www.dentistryinbrooklynheights.com/

  • ltap917

Yes, I second that! Eric Last is great.

  • Hicks St Guy

yes, it was delicious, but as a purist I was surprised that it was made with long grain rice. the chef came over and is very friendly and promised a veggie version in the future. Taperia is definitely a welcome addition to the nabe.

  • Grumpy Bert

    Sitter…for about a week.

  • LWillow

  • M on Willow

I’d like to know myself … I’ve been considering going back.

  • Queen of Waxing

It is with great excitement that I’m posting this today!!
European Wax Center is opening a new location on 130 Montague Street in 2 weeks!!
On our Grand Opening Week, we are treating all of our first-time guests to a little pampering. Ladies can indulge in a FREE bikini line, underarm or eyebrow wax. Or, if you’d like to go smooth, upgrade to a Bikini Brazilian for only $21. Gents can treat themselves to a FREE eyebrow, ear or nose wax. ALSO, if you refer a friend, you will receive $5 off your next service.
At EWC, we use a top-of-the-line hard wax that is made of 100% Beeswax, and is infused with chamomile and lavendar. It is so gentle that we call it our “Comfort Wax”, because it is relatively painless and can be used on the most sensitive skin types.
