Our man in the NYS Senate, Daniel Squadron, is running for Public Advocate. This week TV ads for his campaign began running on local television featuring his old boss U.S. Senator Chuck Schumer. In the spot, the senator praises Squadron for his gun control advocacy.
The race has not generated much attention as it’s been overshadowed by the more lively (?) race for mayor. The five major Democratic candidates met for a debate last week:
NYT: Daniel L. Squadron, a state senator who represents Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn, ticked off his legislative accomplishments, promising to look out for the “overlooked orphans in our political system,” like people in city jails and residents of public housing. “I’ve laid out a very specific plan for this office: to help the most vulnerable,” he said.
