Paul Giamatti Joins Downton Abbey Cast

Brooklyn Heights resident/actor Paul Giamatti will be joining the cast of Downton Abbey, the Wrap reports. He will play the “playboy brother” of Lady Grantham (Elizabeth McGovern) for fourth season of the drama aired here on PBS.

The Wrap: Giamatti’s character is described by the show’s producers as being “rather free-spirited” and “sure to upset the Grantham’s apple cart.” in this year’s finale.”

Giamatti previously won an Emmy for his performance as the second president of the United States in HBO’s “John Adams.” He received an Oscar nomination for his performance in “Cinderella Man” and was acclaimed for his work in “Sideways” and “Win Win.”

    Homer – Just saw your comments about “Singles.” I loved Singles! Wouldn’t usually be my kind of movie at all, but something about it worked for me. I think the movie you’re referring to as worst Gen-X film is “Reality Bites.” And Paul Giamatti will always be Kevin Metheny to me :)
