Overwhelming Support for Brooklyn Heights Traffic Slow Zone

As we reported earlier, the Brooklyn Heights Association has done a survey to determine if there is support among local residents for applying to the City’s Department of Transportation to make the Heights a “slow zone” for traffic. The results are in. Of the nearly 700 people who responded, 91% favor making the application, while 9% oppose it.

Great news. Let’s hope we can work with the DOT to implement now.

I hope it will help the situation of vehicles flying down Hicks St between Clark and Middagh.

I’m hoping that with a 20 mph zone the drivers doing 50+ will slow to 35mph. We have so many seniors and very young children in this neighborhood that a slow zone makes good sense.

Hopefully when they fix Hicks, they can add a speed bump on it between Pineapple and Orange.

A speed bump should be added on Hicks in front of the PS school. Drivers do 50 mph during morning rush hour. A child should not have to get killed before a speed bump is added in front of the school.

Just put some bicycles in the road.

Interesting.I……. suggest they do a survey about the BPL plan to tear down our library, replace it with a huge condo and put the library now 1/3 of its original size half or more in the basement.. Why a survey for one issue and not for another.
