Housing Works Sale This Saturday

This Saturday from 12-8 will be Housing Works’ “Best of Spring” sale. Huge discounts on trendy thrift-store items means long lines of impatient shoppers on Montague. Want to avoid the riff-raff? A $450 donation will get you in an hour before the store opens, while a $120 donation will get you in 30 minutes before opening. Which might already be too late.

I recommend against patronizing this store. They are the ones who banged drums and blew whistles at 6am in our neighborhood not too long ago because some city administrator whom they were protesting has the good sense to live in Brooklyn Heights. When I complained to them, they yelled at me. There are lots of good charities in our neighborhood who care about the neighborhood and their neighbors. This is not one of them.

Don’t patronize this store. They were the ones who woke up a lot of Heights residents at 6am with drums and whistles because the city administrator whom they were protesting has the good sense to live in Brooklyn Heights. When I called them to politely complain they were hostile and hung up on me. Instead, please patronize charities that care about the neighborhood and their neighbors.

if you want people to listen to you, don’t post the same post under two different names….

Fair point. I posted initially but it didn’t seem to take my post. I then reposted under a made-up name and my post registered. Shortly thereafter the initial post showed up. I couldn’t delete it.
