If it wasn’t enough excitement for Arrested Development freaks to see Jason Bateman (photo, in red tie) shooting pickups for The Longest Week in Brooklyn Heights today, an interesting prop on Willow Street might just have put them over the edge. Okay, maybe not over the edge but…

    He’s obviously a newcomer to the nabe and doesn’t know that you can buy the cellphone of your choice from any number of purveyors on Montague Street.

    Well, at least they didn’t install a phone booth (remember those?), waiting to become the next drug dealer office/restroom.

    I rememeber phone booths.

    The phone on The Promenade at Montague Street when I was a younger guy my first apartment in the big city settling in on Remsen Street I used that phone often until the phone company came to hook my phone up.

    And I rememeber LONG calling card numbers that were the technology of the 1980s and 90s

    And then I finally broke down and bought a cell phone because ALL of the pay phones had been removed or most all of them.

    Times have changed.

    Gerry, I too remember calling cards. I also remember rotary dials, proper bell ringers, when a local call cost a dime at a phonebooth and phonebooths still had telephone directories.
