Eagle’s Holt on the Race for the 33rd

The Brooklyn Eagle’s Dennis Holt looks at the race for David Yassky’s seat in the New York City Council representing the 33rd District.  The term-limited Yassky is running for NYC Comptroller. Businessman  Ken Diamondstone recently tossed his hat in the ring to represent the 33rd in the City Council.

Brooklyn Eagle: Race for Yassky’s…: The 33rd is the seat now held by David Yassky; before him, Ken Fisher; and before him, Abe Gerges. Before Gerges, now a prominent judge, there was Fred Richmond.

They all had one thing in common, besides being Democrats: At one time or another, they all lived in Brooklyn Heights. Of the six names so far mentioned as possibilities, five also have one thing in common: None of them live in the Heights.
