The Brooklyn Eagle’s Dennis Holt looks at the race for David Yassky’s seat in the New York City Council representing the 33rd District. The term-limited Yassky is running for NYC Comptroller. Businessman Ken Diamondstone recently tossed his hat in the ring to represent the 33rd in the City Council.
Brooklyn Eagle: Race for Yassky’s…: The 33rd is the seat now held by David Yassky; before him, Ken Fisher; and before him, Abe Gerges. Before Gerges, now a prominent judge, there was Fred Richmond.
They all had one thing in common, besides being Democrats: At one time or another, they all lived in Brooklyn Heights. Of the six names so far mentioned as possibilities, five also have one thing in common: None of them live in the Heights.
