According to McBrooklyn, Bob Diamond has relented on his threat to discontinue tours of the Atlantic Avenue tunnel, after some persuasion by Borough President Marty Markowitz.

There are no details beyond what’s in the linked McBrooklyn piece and the short Eagle piece to which it links; i.e. that Diamond has agreed to continue the tours. No schedule has been announced. We’ll let you know as soon as any more information is available.

I’m glad the tours will continue, but what would be more productive, is if Markowitz worked to facilitate stuff like the trolley Diamond wanted to revive between Downtown and Red Hook.

Living in Brooklyn Heights, it is faster for me today, to get to the Fairway on West 73rd Street in Manhattan, then the one in Red Hook.

Markowitz, with his Atlantic Center advocacy, and his objections to the Prospect Park West bike lane, has shown himself not only to be a buffoon, but a wrong-headed one at that.
