If you’re thinking about parking on York St. you might want to circle the block a couple more times, as Dumbonyc.com reports that there have been “at least 6 or 7 reports of car windows smashed or items stolen from cars” in the past week. Unless you ask specifically about it Heather, it probably won;t be mentioned by the precinct. Same thing happened (and continues to) on the hill from Willow down to Poplar, and I’ve never seen those incidents show up.

Are you bringing doughnuts to the interview?

  • Heather Quinlan

    TK kills me every time.

I am just trying to get into the police blotter.

Zing! But T.K. there won’t be a blotter of you kill Heather, so you’d be defeating your own purpose.

The smash-ins on York St and on Columbia Hts have been a regular thing for a few years now. I’d say that 75% of the time the plates are out-of-state. Thieves hoping for a big score.

I can remember times on Grace Court where I grew up when half of the cars would get broken into at night. At one point I even think there was a homeless person living in our van at times. We kept fixing the little window, but he kept breaking in.

I passed a squad car and upset car owner earlier this week on Clinton X Schermerhorn which also had it’s window smashed.

A Murano with Virginia plates got its passenger window smashed in overnight a couple days ago on Remsen btw Hicks and Montague Terrace. Cops were there filing a report first thing in the morning.

All crimes should be listed in the blotter, or we won’t have a true reading on how serious the crime problem is here, or is that the city’s idea!?
