Nabe resident and Washington state native Santino Fontana will be appearing in Sunday in the Park with Geroge which opens later this month at Studio 54. He' profiled by his hometown Tri-City Herald today:
Tri-City Herald: Broadway Bound: Fontana doesn't rule out that he may try acting roles in television and film eventually, though the stage is his true love.
"I haven't done any television or film work yet," he said. "It's a totally different medium from the stage. There's very little, if any, rehearsal time in film and television, yet acting on stage is all about rehearsing.
"But I'm not against that form of acting, either. I just don't want to get into it until I know what's required. I like to do something well before I ever attempt it for real."
In the meantime, Fontana hopes to continue to support himself with stage work, especially more Broadway shows. He takes the train into Manhattan from his flat in Brooklyn Heights each day, and he's settling nicely into city life in the Big Apple.
"I do miss home, the Northwest," he added. "I like the simpler lifestyle, the open spaces, regular grocery stores and driving a car."
