    One thing I have been wondering a while is whether they are going to put in anything like a mesh barrier so people can’t swim or paddle under the pier. It would be like a crazy grotto/catacomb under there with all the pilings. And super dangerous as the water rises and falls. Obviously people should be smart enough not to go under there, but we all know how it goes….

    Whose kayaks are these. Is it BYOK or is there a livery and supervision?

    Maybe they can recycle the playground orbs and use them as water bollards.

    I saw them Sunday, on the open water just south of Pier One, so they’d ventured into the East River itself. But they were keeping together, and were close to the Pier itself.
